Knitting Project: Sweet Sunset Sweater

I found this beautiful yarn, Antuco,  at my LYS for $3.00 a skein.  I fell in love with the colors and the fact that it is 100% cotton.  I am a natural fiber buff.  When I saw the yarn I had a sweater design already in mind, but  I did not have a pattern chosen. I finally found a diamond style pattern in a Knitting Vogue Stitchionary book.  I then paired up the diamond pattern with a seedstitch ribbing.  The blend of the 2 textures works out well.

I am using a size 6 needle which stitches 3 stitches in 1 inch across and 4 stitches in one inch high.

This is the first time I have done a yarn over.  It is not as complicated as it sounds.  Or at least I thought it sounded complicated.

A yarnover is demonstrated here in this video.

This is how far I have gotten on my project.

I am working on the arms as we speak.  I am debating whether or not to make them 3/4 length or cap sleeve.  I am leaning towards 3/4 length.  It gives it more of a classy feel.

For now I am planning to only have a button or a clasp at the neck line.  There won’t be buttons on the full length of the sweater.

Knittingly,

Dawn
