How can I not write about these darling babies.

Beautiful lambing season has started here on the  “Lazy ‘O’ Ranch.  It is an awesome sight to see them born then wobbling off on their long legs within hours.

These are our first 2 babies of the year.  We have 3 more ewes that are due soon and on stand-bye.

Both of these lamb are precious baby girls.  My husband gave them the cute names of  Laverne and Shirley.

Laverne is a very laid back little girl.  Her relaxed disposition has us worried the first 24 hours of her life because we wasn’t sure if she was feeding well.  We weighed her 24 hours after she was born and she gained 4 lbs.  I would have to say that she was eating pretty good.

Shirley, on the other hand, is a vivacious very zippy little girl.  She is extremely inquisitive and literally all over the place.  She is the one her mommy has to constantly keep her eye on.

Mommy Annette is doing very well.  This is her second time birthing and she is wonderful at it.  I have heard horror stories of ewe’s rejecting their babies.  I couldn’t imagine.

More babies are on their way and will be warmly welcomed by the family.  Pretty soon our very small 2 acre farm will be rockin’ and rollin’.
