My Stella Knit Tank Top Using Elsebeth Lavold’s Silk/Wool

By Dawn A. Shaffer

I fell in love with this’ sapling green’ from the Elsebeth Lavold’s  wool/silk yarn collection.  There were only 2 skeins left in this LYS store located in the Poconos. I quickly swiped them up and this tank top was born.

I wanted to give this tank an airy feel.  Sometimes when you use this type of yarn for a summer sweater or tank it looks so heavy.  Incorporating lace into the patter certainly lightened it up.  My daughter in this picture fights with me over this tank top.

The lace bottom reflects the lace on the top.  The neckline is a simple boat neck style.  It worked out perfect where the looseness of the lace made it look like the neck is framed.  The arms are knit adding a stitch every couple of rows because the lace pattern kept decreasing a stitch on me.  I have yet to figure out why it was working out that way.

I have yet to critique the directions, but they are coming soon.  They may end up being in video form.  I love demonstrating what I do.

Let me know what you think.
