We are Packed and Ready to Go

We are so excited to attend Raggs Fiber Affairs and market this weekend, April 29, at the Delmont Firehall in Delmont, PA.

This is our first time there and we are already met with warm greetings.  Toni Ritchey from Raggz fiber recommended us to a reporter from the Pittsburgh Tribune.  An interview was made on the spot.  It was great!

This is what Deborah Weisburg wrote about us.

Dawn Shaffer of Spring Mills, near State College, will sell yarn from the 17 sheep she raises on her family’s Lazy O Ranch, as well as hand-turned yarn bowls and drop spindles crafted by her husband, Larry, and crocheted and felted items her daughters make.

Shaffer’s sheep are Coopworths, which yield a medium-grade fleece in a range of colors from black to white and variations of gray.

“The natural colors are gorgeous, but I dye some of my wool, too, because people like a lot of choices,” says Shaffer, who claims there is a big difference between buying wool sold in big box stores and that from small farms such as hers.

I encourage you to read the rest here.

It’s an amazing article about the artists whose passion for wool and fiber starts from the ground up.

I am very honored to take part in this festival. If you are close to the Delmont, PA area, look us up.  We will be their with our Coopworth yarn straight from our flock, hand painted yarns, hand turned wooden yarn bowls, drop spindles and so much more.

Hope to see you there,
